Arnold Faber works as a drum teacher at Just Drums. He is one of the best. A fellow employee Cameron Warrack invited him to see his heavy metal band play a show. Arnold was blown away and so inspired that he got this crazy idea to pair heavy metal drumming with his vibraphone. The result is Arnold’s composition “Metal Vibe”. This piece is genius in it’s creativity and fascinating with it’s highly original sound! Pretty sure this combination is a world-first! TwinDiamond was proud to answer the call! This drummer is a beast, it was sure something to behold while we were recording.

Completed the sound design and score for a fashion short film entitled “Nocturne Ouverte”, directed by Lynne Kamm for Fashion Art Toronto (FAT), picked up by Fashion Film Network, and ’7th floor’ an LA-based international television channel.

An original composition for Vibraphone and Piano by Arnold Faber. TwinDiamond was very pleased to help Arnold achieve the sound he desired for his beautiful piece. We used the AKG 451B’s as overheads, the Neumann TLM193 in front, and the 2 Crown PCC160 PZM’s on the floor to capture the ethereal beauty of the vibraphone or “Gold Monster” as Arnie calls it!

Serenity for String Trio

Composed by Mike Peters. My first composition for string trio. Please check out the Soundcloud link below. Featuring York U Students – Milen Petzelt-Sorace on Violin, Kimi Suzuki on Viola, and Jaime on Cello.

I used a few counterpoint tricks for the piece that I learned at York U. But the main thing is that I wanted to write something for strings with heart and soul. I’ve always loved the sound of a small group of strings, it was a pleasure writing this piece and working with Milen, Kimi, and Jaime. I plan on writing another piece for strings sometime in the future.
